It’s always been hot in Austin during the summer. For many years Austinites have cooled off in Barton Springs and, with wet heads, gone home to sleep with the windows open! Today is a good day to give thanks for your air conditioning. But let’s not take our air conditioning for granted, go outside and get HOT!
Once again, going to Zilker Hillside Theatre and swimming in Barton Springs is what all the “cool” people in Austin are doing the next several weekends. Look at your calendar and pick a night or two (last year my kids and I went three times) to attend the summer production of Annie! Austinites will be singing, dancing and entertaining for FREE for the 52nd year in a row. Email your school buddies, take your out of town guests, and spread out your blanket on the hill for a night your kids will remember forever. The performance will rival those on Broadway and the kids don’t need to wear shoes or have a ticket. Don’t forget to bring a few dollars to donate to this wonderful Austin tradition.
