What a great time in Austin to have active kids! I always think of Austin as a great place to be in the summer and spring because of the warm weather, but let’s be honest. The summers are pretty miserable here. And the parks are great in the summer but we’re constantly looking for one with shade, water, and an easy exit for when the kids get overheated…and whiny.
So it comes to this time of year and I’m reminded of why I really like living in Austin. Not many places can you go outside with your kids in shorts and a long-sleeve shirt and play for hours without getting cold, hot, sweaty, or frostbitten. This is a great time of year to go on family walks before or after dinner. Let the kids just run at the park after school. Or maybe we should have an adult pick-up flag football game. Anyone in?
