So if you have been in the store lately you have seen my poor wife walking around like she is the wicked stepmother from Cinderella with the poison apples.

In case you are calling me a jerk for saying my wife is mean, she hasn’t been yelling any more than usual or any angrier than normal, she has been down and out with a bad back. She has had it since her college volleyball days and it acts up every now and again. Usually she just fights through the pain and goes on about her normal day because she is the toughest person I have ever met and she is not going to be denied because of a little back pain.

However, this time is different. I am telling you all of this, not for you to feel sorry for her, because she would be pissed at me for even telling you. I am telling you this because it has rocked my world and I have become the sole caregiver for our four wonderful kids. I am here to tell you that I take my wife for granted every single day of my life. She is the rock that keeps us together and keeps our ship moving in the proper direction. We all get wrapped up in our lives and we forget to thank the people who help us the most.

I would just encourage everyone to thank at least one person a day for helping them out. I am going to thank my wife every morning for not only helping raise the kids, but for making me a better father and husband. I think tomorrow when you wake up, say thank you to your spouse, neighborhood shoe store owner, soccer coach, coffee barista, or whoever deserves it.

This world is tough and we can’t do it all alone. Remember is takes a village to raise kids and make sure you say thank you to the village for hooking you up. Now I need my boss lady back, so if anyone has a witch doctor to cure my wife’s back…
